My son
Steadfast in my manner, feet on the ground.
Cool calm collected, with an opinated surround.
You've got a son now, and I'm a grandfather too.
Your mother says "look at his smile", we both agree he looks like you.
Little fingers and tiny toes, reaching up high for things to do.
Funny how time goes, sometimes difficult, like me with this poem.
Can't get some lines to rhyme.
Taking myself back to when you was a child makes me so happy now.
As you grow, we just grow apart some how.
But that doesn't matter, we are still together, steadfast in lifes long endeavour.
Grappling with work to make ends meat, a new chapter of your life, you've turned a new sheet.
I'll sign off now and hope that one day, when your sat in with these thoughts.
And remember these came within my heart felt heart.
