See me with your heart

I’ve struggled through my life just trying to survive, waking each day but never fully alive.
I never meant to be the person I became, but life wasn’t kind to me, and I couldn’t escape the pain.
So, I chose a road of darkness, making mistakes along the way, never finding my destination I wandered my life away.
I can only apologize for bringing upon us this wrath, If I could turn back time, I would have chosen a different path.
I cannot change the past, I only hope to make amends, and ask for the forgiveness of my family and my friends.
Never doubt my love for you, though it’s hard for you to see, I’m shackled to my demons, and they refuse to set me free.
In my time of weakness, I long to have you near, I’m alone without direction, and so blinded by my fear.
my thoughts are always of you, though my mind is scattered about remembering the good times helps me to keep the darkness out.
Can you overlook my imperfections, even though they have torn us apart, can you find a way to forgive me and see me with your heart?
