BLAME
Ty TaiLynn Showem/Mrs. Showem 1988 (Omaha, NE)
March 24I blame the overload of parties, because they led to less private romantic dates.
I blame the lack of compliments and sweet words being replaced with spews of cruelty and hate.
I blame the toxic connections that didn't encourage a better unity.
I blame the temptations you didn't reject properly for the sake of a continued blossom with you and me...
I blame our failed make-ups and all of the unacknowledged shedded tears, because it's never good to be surrounded by your partner, but feel like they still aren't even there.
I blame holding onto past pains and misguided angers, as well as the extreme care of how things appear mostly to strangers...
I blame the drugs, wrong desires, and over indulged drinks, because I will always see you as a strong mighty King, even if you looked in the mirror and feel you're not seeing the same thing!
I blame the setbacks, consistent clashes, mind games, battles, and the lies told too,
because I love you so much still...
I refuse to BLAME you.
About this poem
Sure accountability is important and is the first step towards much, but fully understanding what all may have triggered/influenced specific decisions and or behaviors is just as important, especially when it comes to making positive changes for betterment and growth...I believe. It's all your fault and you're to blame for this and that can be stated easily, but seeing beneath the surface can provide understandings of motives, intent, core/root issues, struggles, and or reasonings. (I wrote this poem in dedication to my most recent ex pertaining to and following our break up. Due to the positive feedback from him and others I felt it's best I also share it here and although we remained apart...this poem also helps my heart) more »
