The Servant's Mission
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
God created Heaven and earth,
Spread the earth to give it form;
Multiply people to give birth,
Gave seasons allowing to warm.
The Lord called us in righteousness,
And He will take us by the hand;
In following Him He will bless,
A covenant He does command.
He opens the eyes that are blind,
From those who sit in the darkness;
Those in anger He will make kind,
Soothing those who are in distress.
Praise the Lord, glory to His name,
No other idols shall I praise;
As I continue to proclaim,
Throughout the night and all my days.
The former things have come to pass,
And the new things I now declare;
Spring forth for telling all the mass,
Giving them the good news to share.
