America So Beautiful

America so beautiful
Waves of gold and amber glow
Tall sycamores reach long graceful arms
Singing leaves tossed high to azure tinged clouds
Water leaps from snow dressed peaks
to season lakes with life

America so beautiful
How much I care for thee
Forest's thoughtful quiet whisper to my soul
The sunset spreads her skirt's charming shades
As fireworks dance upon beachy waves
Your watercolor gardens inspire my poet's spirit

America so beautiful
Flames swell in my patriotic heart
Silent copper deserts blush silver - gold in the sleepy twilight
Brooks chuckle rushing fish have tickled
Sawtooth cliffs jagged shoulders hold back foamy waves
As meadows sway dancing in vast array

America so beautiful
A stew of every man throughout the land
Filled with so much promise
Old spliced grace new into the future's towers
Nature and all nations must share this lovely place
Will we stay true to past values or kill the best of you?

America - May your value fly forever
red, white, blue

F. D. Davidson

I've been a writer since I was able to write. I also enjoyed teaching. I've taught everything from preschool to college. Owning my own business was a lovely experience as well. I'm young enough to still watch cartoons and old enough to understand why people say time flies. My favorite things are children, nature and God. more…
