THE DOOR TO YESTERDAY

THE DOOR TO YESTERDAY

THE PRESISTENCE OF MEMORY BECONS SOFTLY TO US,
THROUGH THE MURKEY WINDOWS OF OUR FADED MEMORIES,
BRINGING FORTH THE PAINFUL IMAGES OF PAST EVENTS,
THAT HAVE TWISTED THE FABRIC OUR LIVES.

THE HARSH WORD SPOKEN, THE KINDNESS WITHELD,
THE CHARITY FORGOTTEN, THE GOOD DEED LEFT UNDONE,
THE FRIENDSHIP NEGLECTED, THE COMFORT NEVER OFFERED,
THE MALICE THOUGHTLESSLY GIVEN, THE LOVE CONCIOUSLY DENIED.

WE VIEW THOSE SILENT PATHS OF REGRET,
TOROTORUS AND STRUNE WITH BROKEN GLASS,
ONCE TROD BY OUR TORN AND BLEEDING FEET,
WHICH REMAIN NOW FOREVER FROZEN IN OUR ANTIQUITY.

WE REACH OUT TO RESHAPE THE PAINFUL SADDNESS,
BUT ENTRY TO OUR SORDID PAST IS ETERNALLY BARRED,
THE RUSTED BOLT CAN NEVER BE THROWN OPEN,

THE DOOR TO YESTERDAY IS ALWAYS CLOSED!
