Glowing Gods

Heads bow as in prayer, bowing to the glowing gods,
screens and devices in hand.
Earbuds fill ears,
bright screens as eyes stare,
heads bob to chosen songs.

No one sees,
no one hears,
no one cares.
In a digital world,
human interaction is scarce,
compassion dulled and respect gone.

But the glow of screens can't replace,
The warmth of touch and a friendly face.
Let us strive for true connection,
And build a world with true affection.

All around us, echoes of emotions,
Shadows filled with memories.
Ghosts of the past we can't touch,
But we feel them, they're always with us.

Subway or on the street,
all heads bow to the glowing gods.
Eyes scroll for the latest post,
and videos captivate viewers.
Yet sometimes a glimpse,
a flicker in the corner of the eye,
reminds us of the real world,
of what we're missing.

We must not forget the world around us,
for the present and the past are intertwined.
Let us turn off our devices,
and see what's truly there,
for it's in human interaction
that we find true meaning and connection..

About this poem

This writing shows my observation of how we have lost touch with the world and those right next to us.
