Sharon's poem
Sharon’s poem
Here I sit and write
Illuminated by a campfires flickering light
Feeling sullen and alone
I gaze up at the stars that shone
And as the fire softly crackles
I hear a distant night birds hackles
The night a scene of serenity
Yet my mind races infinitely
Memories I cant seem the to get out of my head
Still longing to be lying next to you in bed
I still remember the softness of your skin
But know that I’ll never feel it again
Nor will I feel your lips pressed to mine
Or the heat of our bodies intertwined
How am I supposed to go on all alone
My voice has no more love in its tone
These eyes that once sparkled so bright
Are now as dead as the dead of night
Its so insufferable without you here
Now it’s a long life that I have left to fear
But I pray that there is a heaven above
And that your flying with the angels like a dove
And I pray that god forgives to
For the many sins of this fool
Why did he have to take you away
How much must I (f#*!^”g) pay
Where my sins so great that he should care
Because this cost is more than I can bare
Are not I the one he should smite
So why not take me that awful night
I’ll have to sit and wait for judgment day
To hear just what he has to say
And if st.peter wont let me pass
Then I’ll knock him on his prissy ass
I’d rip the fabric of time and space
To just once again see your beautiful face
So you see that even after your death
I still love you with my every breath
I fear I’m forever stuck in the past
And that my heart will forever remain at half mast
