I Do Not Miss You. It’s The Thought Of You
I almost can't remember what it feels like,
A distant cold has become ever so familiar,
Solitude now fills my life with meaning,
A yearning to be alone, forgotten,
Like a root, capable of fruits so pure,
Yet hidden, safe.
I find myself asking the stars for forgiveness,
For whatever I must have done,
Previous life or this, to be so unfairly treated,
If only I was the moon, adored by many,
Circulating around beautiful people,
Yet the circle in the sky brings me warmth,
Just like you used to,
Bring me life in my breath and love in my eyes,
I think of you, sometimes,
To be loved is what I miss, not your soul,
Or the laugh that weakened me, or touch that yielded me,
It's love I miss, not you.
I almost can't remember what it feels like,
For this root to be so beautiful,
And the winter horizon to come again,
Until then this solitude will bring me meaning,
I will stay alone, safe.
