We have to live
Nature is cruel to us all,
And we are cruel to Nature.
And say it I shall:
Life isn't fair.
The clock ticks by...
Slowly snatching away the time we still have to breathe.
And we are growing up to die,
Bit by bit, yet wasting our time to cry and seethe.
Everything is out of our hands.
We hopelessly try to find some deep meaning, try try try and fail.
There is no meaning Nature demands,
But we invent meanings all the same, from our early days to when we are frail.
We have been cruel to Nature -
Cutting down trees and building a factory and a dam.
But nature is no less cruel for sure:
Whether each life is fair or not, Nature doesn't give a damn.
Nature is cruel to us all,
And we are cruel to Nature.
And say it I shall:
Life isn't fair.
Ever-increasing is the gap
Between the exploiting rich and the exploited poor.
Ever-increasing is the overlap
Between heaven and hell, and that's for sure.
There is no good, no evil:
All that matters is just power.
So it's not a crime to kill -
And kill and kill till it's all over.
All Nature cares about is that
Life evolves as a whole, regardless of the individual lives.
And the meaning of that is what?
It's definitely not an answer that one easily derives.
Nature is cruel to us all,
And we are cruel to Nature.
And say it I shall:
Life isn't fair.
But one thing we can't deny
Is that we are here for a limited amount of time.
So before we have to say bye-bye,
Let's enjoy the life (I know we are all trying).
We have to live.
Not because life is fair, and not for fulfilling some divine purpose.
But because we want to live.
Deep inside, we don't want our eyes to forever close.
We don't know why we live.
But we have to live since we really want to.
Because living is everything, do believe.
The world is not beautiful, but staying alive is wonderful.
