A broken Soul

She carries a smile that doesn’t reach her eyes,
And her lips are sealed, like padlocks.
Ask for a story, and get a fairytale instead
Symptoms of a broken heart.

She carries a smile that doesn’t reach her eyes,
And her lips are always grimaced in hesitation,
Ask a question and get an excuse in return
Symptoms of a broken mind.

She carries a smile that doesn’t reach her eyes,
and she’s delicately stunning, like gold.
Ask her where she is, and she’ll say past no return
because that girl has a broken soul.
