Mum
MUM - James Barnett April 25th 2012
She closed her eyes, she wouldn't speak
I tried so hard, but it was bleak.
The air was tense, the lights grew dim
In deafening silence, stood the reaper grim.
The time had come to say goodbye
My expressionless face was all a lie.
My soul was shattered my heart just sank
Motionless stood I, my memories all blank.
Mourners stood watch, to see me cry
No show for them, my eyes were dry.
As they lowered the casket one inch at a time
It was covered by mud, flowers and thyme.
I feel her thoughts, her spirit and love
Watching over me dearly from up above.
I love my mum, she's not far away
We will be reunited by God someday.
