My Daughter's
My daughter is like a rose bud
So precious, so pure.
Innocently smiling, grinning at me
She taught me about love, that's for sure
As she grows she is learning but teaching too
She cannot fully grasp; she is showing me what to do
All of my fears and anxieties flushed away
As I sit on my floor with my child and play
Sometimes we do new things, or often just the old.
It doesn't really matter as her little hand I hold
You see I was afraid to love her the perfect way
When all she really asked of me was always just to stay
I've learned a lot from my daughter, my love, my life
She continues to push and push until I get things right.
