Sad Knowledge
The greater my knowledge the greater my grief
To increase knowledge only increases sorrow
To be the child of innocence and know not
The sins of the world that could bring you to tears
But looking in this reflecting and denying mirror
I cannot be to sure of what is to simply come
Maybe hiding from my fears I could always run
The dreams reach out better than this reality
But knowing death is so close that of finality
The child that reaches out with young eyes
Again not knowing of what is to be
The small hands that yearn for a mother love
Knowing not she is in the sky and now above
The child that cries because she knows she’s alone
And the child that will one day simply turn to stone
The world that rejects her and will not open
Soon she will turn and no longer reach, close in
The better she was when innocence had her mind
Now that reality caught her it pulls her in
The greater my knowledge the greater my grief
To increase knowledge only increases sorrow
