Terrific Thoughts

Memories of the past
So vivid as if I could touch
The thoughts of simpler times
Like cookies baking at grandma's
Walking up those steps to a smell
Of cookies or fudge
Memories of the greatest of huggs
That only Grandma can give
Just the simplest of odors
Returns us to childhood memories
It feels as if I can live it again
With grandma in her chair
Watching TV together
Spending the night under comforters
Full of warmth and love
The kind that only grandma brings
Her smiles , her kisses, all her ways
A simple memory that I hold close
Deep within my heart and soul
The greatest memories to form my core
By the days when it was so wonderful
The fudge and cookies are long gone
But the memories shall remain alive
Within my heart and mind forevermore
