Where Did The Sun Go

Where, my love, where did the sun go?
It was right there, its light, its glow.
Out of view, it set into the West
To lay itself on down to rest.
Through the night, I wander far away,
Waiting for the beginning of day
To see what lurks nearby in the dark,
To see what's left this unholy mark.
Darkness, I won't let it take me in.
Struggling, I will not let it win.
Stubborn fool, stubborn and shameful being.
Can you ever see what I'm seeing?
Running fiercely to an unknown site
And breathing hard in a panicked fright.
Please God, on the horizon show
That rising sun, its light, its glow.
