2020/07/17-20 ~ Don't You Know?
Cheyenne Seaman 2003 (Philadelphia)
Father, don't You know that I'm terrified?
I don't know where life is taking me.
My future, it's always on my mind
As it spans out like an eternity.
I hear You asking, "Child don't you know?
I would never leave you alone.
I'm always by your side, not on the phone.
I'm always there wherever you go."
So I keep on running this race
Doing my best to keep with the pace.
When I think of all He went through
I know I gotta give it one twenty-two.
I know my Saviour. He was crucified
And a couple of years ago, He saved my life.
Father, don't You know I'm terrified
Of all this world's hate and strife?
I hear You asking, "Child don't you know?
I would never leave you alone.
I'm always by your side, not on the phone.
I'm always there wherever you go."
I say, "Don't you know I cannot see You?
How do I know You're really there?
I know all You've said has been true,
But sometimes I feel like nobody cares."
He replies, "Don't you know I'm Your Comforter?
I'm there holding you tight when you want to cry.
My Child, don't you know I'm your Maker?
I've been there since before the dawn of time."
I hear You asking, "Child don't you know?
I would never leave you alone.
I'm always by your side, not on the phone.
I'm always there wherever you go."
Father, don't You know I'm in the midst of a storm?
All around me, my world's crashing down.
Father, don't you know I'm terrified and torn?
The battles of the war are raging all around.
I hear You saying, "Child, don't you know you're safe now?
Nothing can ever take you from Me.
Maybe someday, maybe somehow,
You will understand how this can be."
I hear You asking, "Child don't you know?
I would never leave you alone.
I'm always by your side, not on the phone.
I'm always there wherever you go."
