My mother saw me for what I was

My mother saw me for what I was
A coward who has lost her voice
Shriveling in an empty shell
Crying to be let out of shackles and chains
My mother saw me for what I was
And she exploited the weakness she saw
Blackmail and word were sure
Pain already a blinding blur
My mother saw me for what I was
And she was revolted by what she saw
My cry a foil for small empathy
My anger a pointless joke
My mother saw me for what I was
Thought I didn't love her for what she was
Thought I intentionally don't hid to the word she sought
Thinking me an evil person to the core
