While I Sleep

A blush of stardust blankets the town
People are sleeping peaceful and sound
Through the night they dream, non-reality connected
Not a word said leaves them affected
Dawn is near, there is a rising fear
Debt and worry, status and glory

About this poem

This poem was written when I was a young mother with many responsibilities and hopes and dreams, living with ridicule and criticism daily and always moving forward to my hopes and dreams, regardless.
